The Manager, Market Intelligence, will lead market monitoring and competitive analysis to help Terrestar stay ahead of industry trends and customer expectations. The incumbent provides strategic insights from usability studies and market research to refine products and services. He or she also tracks key market metrics, develops reports and dashboards, and manages data visualization for clear communication. Additionally, the Manager will establish a centralized knowledge database and foster a culture of knowledge sharing. Collaborating with teams and acting as a subject-matter expert, the Manager will support the development of commercial and business direction at executive level.

The main responsibilities are: 

Market & Competitive Intelligence 

  • Lead overall market monitoring, ensuring continuous tracking of industry metrics, developments, competitive movements, and emerging trends. 
  • Conduct in-depth market and competitive analysis, staying ahead of industry trends and customer expectations.
  • Provide strategic evidence from usability studies, customer feedback, and market research to refine products and services.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for product optimization by collaborating with engineering, product, and marketing teams.
  • Participate in industry events, webinars, and conferences to stay informed on market shifts and bring valuable insights to the organization 

Knowledge Management & Collaboration 

  • Create and update compelling frameworks, tables and visuals to convey key insights at a glance, ensuring clarity and impact in communication. 
  • Establish and manage a centralized knowledge database, ensuring accessibility and continuity of critical business insights. 
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, streamlining access to competitive intelligence, industry reports, and internal research. 
  • Act as a subject-matter expert in handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications. 
  • Build constructive relationships with contributors and leaders at all levels to drive alignment and achieve shared goals.

COMPETENCY PROFILE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering or technology; master's degree preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in business analysis, market intelligence, market and customer research, or a similar role, preferably in the telecommunications or satellite industry. 
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing knowledge databases. 

Other qualifications

  • Extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative market and competitive research methodologies.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into strategic insights that drive business decisions. Expertise in developing and presenting comprehensive reports and dashboards. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthetize complex data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Sharepoint database management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence principles is a strong asset.
